Esplanade

Just a stone’s throw from the ocean, this single-level beach house was designed to sit quietly in its surroundings; low-key, timeless, and as though it had always belonged there.

Clad in cedar with a refined board and batten profile, the home’s understated exterior complements the coastal environment. Built by Reside Construction, the project required extensive groundwork due to the high water table and flood zoning. The final result is set to the required height, with the design carefully shaped to both meet regulation and feel grounded in place.

Arranged in a C-shape, the home wraps around a sheltered central courtyard, offering protection from the prevailing sea breeze while maintaining a strong visual connection to the coastline. Expansive floor-to-ceiling glazing along the front elevation frames ocean views and floods the living spaces with light.
